June 1st - Children's Day -How we can support our children with beliefs & affirmations!

June 1st is the day to draw attention to the needs & especially to children's rights. This day is an occasion to celebrate the limitless potential of our youth & the joys of childhood. Your pure curiosity, your carefree laugh. June 1st is the reminder for us adults to take part in the development and your happiness. Because if you try to see the world from a child's point of view, you will see the world with completely different eyes.

Children have a curious and fresh view of the world. Every day is an adventure and new for them. Children have the ability to become completely immersed in a moment. When playing, they are often so absorbed that they cannot be spoken to.

We adults have long since lost this ability to experience the moment intensely. At a certain age, as adults, we worry far too much about everything. We have more worries and fears, that is due to the fact that we have gained individual experiences. These are shaped, especially negative experiences, which let us quickly get away from the here and now.

Painting as meditation therapy

In early childhood, children cannot yet verbalize how they feel, but they express their feelings through painting. They express what they feel through lines and colors, a child passionately forms a visible piece of its self on paper. One could also say that they put their soul into the picture. Painting can also help us adults as a kind of meditation. We can also express our feelings with the help of colors and shapes. It can help us reduce stress, give us busy minds, find peace of mind, and boost our creativity in the process. By concentrating on painting, we sink into the here and now, we dedicate ourselves completely to our picture and the colors. As a result, we switch off our carousel of thoughts and forget for a while what was bothering us and what was stressing us. Sometimes this results in a solution or a different way of thinking about certain topics/things that previously seemed "hopeless" to us.

We can strengthen our children with the help of positive beliefs and affirmations. If children and adults already have negative beliefs, they can be transformed into positive beliefs with the help of positive affirmations.

What is a belief?

A belief is a conditioning/programming that usually comes from childhood. They are negative outcomes that are formed primarily in childhood. Often in the social environment through parents, relatives, teachers and friends. Beliefs are deep-seated beliefs.

What are negative beliefs?

1 Life is hard and unfair.

"We're not on make a wish here, we're on that's the way it is!"

"Life is not a pony farm."

Everyone has heard these two examples before. It means nothing other than the verbal strengthening of having to constantly struggle in life and nothing gets around it. Instead of forcing yourself to do things, doing things you enjoy can give you a whole different perspective on life.

2 I have to work hard for my money

"No pain no gain"

"From nothing, comes nothing"

Many see the salary as a kind of compensation for the hard and unpleasant work. We should much rather carry out a profession in which we are fully absorbed in it and the money is a pleasant side effect. An activity that corresponds to our natural gifts and talents.

3 I can't do this / I can't do this.

Quote: Whether you think you can do it or you think you can't, you're going to be right. "

-Henry Ford-

This quote describes the effect of a belief on our entire life very accurately. Rock-solid belief is the simplest and surest recipe for success.

How do I formulate positive beliefs?

Always formulate the beliefs in the present, as if the desired state had already occurred. You should always use simple words and use active language. Try to make the feeling that your child associates with it as tangible as possible.

What are positive beliefs?

1 I am smart, lovely & awesome

2 I like me

3 I can

4 I am safe & secure, all is well.

What is an affirmation?

An affirmation consists of a positive statement about yourself and how I achieve the statement. If these are repeated daily, they become firm beliefs. That means we can use positive affirmations to transform our negative beliefs into positive beliefs. Affirmations have the power to change your thinking habits in the long term & positively influence your emotional state.

What are positive affirmations?

1 I am happy & full of gratitude because I focus on positive thoughts.

2 I am healthy and feel great in my body.

3 I know it's normal to feel scared sometimes, but I won't let it stop me.

4 I eat healthy food that is good for my body.

There are numerous tools to deal with beliefs and affirmations in a playful way, especially with children. Card sets with affirmation sayings or posters, memories are great supporters. Mindlets , shirts or meditation cushions with certain symbols and affirmations on them can perfectly support us adults in developing ourselves.
