The mirror of the heart - a home altar that inspires you for your spiritual yoga practice
1. Establish an intention:
Close your eyes and let the flow of your thoughts inspire you creatively or express your gratitude. Maybe it should give you strength, energy and be a place for your rituals.
Should it be dedicated to someone who might need your help?
Would you like to dedicate this place to yourself?
Should this place reflect your meditation and yoga practice?
2. Find a place:
Here you are looking for a place for your altar, a place where you like to be, that gives you peace and energy, a private place. This can be in the apartment, but also outdoors, for example in the garden.
With the spirit you fill it with, the altar will energize you.
Once you have chosen it, consider whether and how you will place your yoga mat or meditation cushion in front of it.
3 . Things that matter to you:
There are no rules here, it can be photos, flowers, images, deities or even small offerings. In the Hindu tradition, a sweet sacrificial food is offered to the deity Prasad. If you don't like any of those things, you choose something to focus your devotion on.
4. Your intention may change:
Exchange things, your intention may change!
Exchange pictures or objects that are meaningful to you to establish new energies. You can also incense your altar regularly, preferably at new moon, to increase the energy of letting go.
