Exquisite, hand-picked wild collection from Nepal/Himalaya! Like its Chinese counterpart, this Nepalese Szechuan pepper is not a real pepper. It is a thorny shrub plant that can grow up to 10 meters high. After a yellow flower, reddish to brown capsule fruits form. The Szechaun pepper from Nepal is not the usual cultivated variety from China (Zanthoxylum piperitum), but an absolute rarity from the untouched jungles of the Himalayas. This Szechuan pepper is harvested by hand from wild pepper plants at an altitude of approx. 2000 meters - you can clearly taste the difference between the "wild Szechuan pepper" and the pantage goods!

Taste: the taste differs significantly from Chinese Szechaun pepper. Himalayan Sichuan pepper capsules are smaller and darker in color. The spiciness is much more pronounced and the aroma is intensely warm and woody with a distinctly floral scent of passion fruit and lime. Very seldom is there such a great and complex taste of: tingling sharpness, refreshing citrus note and slightly bitter wood aroma.

Application: "a must" for authentic Asian cuisine! Nothing can replace this aroma. For wok dishes, curries, vegetable, meat and fish dishes. Attention: the essential oil content of 8-10% is almost three times as high as that of commercially available goods. So please use sparingly!
